Partners On The Move - A Letter From Scott

Dear New Ground,

There is always so much to be thankful for in being part of the worldwide Newfrontiers family. It is a joy to experience something so similar to the Biblical partnership that we read about in Acts and the letters of the New Testament.

Over the years, many men and women in our family of churches have been exemplary in leadership, preaching, eagerness for the Holy Spirit, serving and remembering the poorest, which has carried blessing beyond measure. But somehow, the delivery of these blessings within the context of genuine friendship and closeness of relationship has made our Newfrontiers expression of Kingdom mission especially true to the New Testament narratives.

Recently Dave & Liz visited us in Nampula, Moçambique and helped us to appoint elders in a church-plant called Communidade Alegre (Community of Joy), a moment which had taken nine years to reach.  The appointment was translated into local languages and within an atmosphere of no small outpouring of joy.  Following on from this, Communidade Alegre have recently had Graham and Belinda Marsh bring further encouragement and have helped launch the Freed for Purpose course. In 2019, Henk & Eunee Kersten will visit in February and Dave & Liz Holden in July. This church, now across four sites, is poised to grow significantly in influence, especially as the businesses, schools and other initiatives around it grow too.

In this same vein, we had the immense privilege of having Dale Barlow and Phil Moore with us for MegaVision 2018. Dale’s longtime friendship and prophetic gift were extremely fortifying, and Phil’s superb preaching has been quoted every week since in churches in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Moçambique.  My wife, Claire, still has the words ‘I CAN’T, BUT GOD CAN’ as her Whatsapp profile pic!

Meanwhile, River of Life in Harare is moving forward with plans for handling exciting growth across our two sites and five meetings on a Sunday. Dave and Liz continue to be received as our primary apostolic input, having brought tremendous strength and built relationships over the years.

I’m looking forward to being with you at Ashburnham 2019 and to see growing momentum as we partner together with Jesus on his global mission. I believe that this is absolutely the real thing - his disciples going into all the world and making disciples of all nations.

Much love to you,
Scott
