Freed For Purpose
A one day conference for Church Leaders and Pastoral Team members involved in supporting people through mental illness, addiction and brokenness.
All of us have people in our lives who struggle on a daily basis and many will find their way into our church community. How can we best support the individual, show compassion without being overwhelmed and have faith to see breakthrough in Christ.
Using practical and interactive sessions, we will look for ways that can offer both short and long term support. With contributions from doctors, psychiatrists, church leaders as well as those who have found hope and recovery in life.
A message from Dave Holden:
"I'm very keen to invite you to this conference. It has the very real potential to shape how you as a church community can genuinely impact people's lives. Our churches can sometimes be overwhelmed by the mental health needs of people that we are reaching through the gospel, but the good news is that this same gospel has the power not only to save people but then to go onto transform every aspect of their lives - this conference will equip you & your team to see this happen more effectively.
I hope that you will bring as many of your people who are working pastorally as you can."
Dr Femi Ogeleye (consultant psychiatrist)
Dr Steve Smith (doctor, founder of Keys Detox programme)
Belinda and Graham Marsh (Senior Leadership Team, Kings Church Eastbourne & Seaford)
