We aim to get the balance right to train you to become a fully equipped leader within the church. We devote roughly half of our training course to helping students to know, handle, apply and experience the Bible as the Word of God. Around a quarter of the course is given to helping students partner with the Holy Spirit on mission, both inside and outside the church. And the remaining quarter of the course is devoted to helping students to grow in the general leadership skills that they need to lead, shape and grow churches.
The New Ground Academy in Edinburgh started in September 2015 and has since seen over 90 people attending from several churches. Our course runs for two years, with eight sessions each year studied together at the King’s Church building, one session in Wimbledon with the London training base, and other units on the course available online. The Edinburgh sessions are on Friday afternoon and evening, with a meal together, and on Saturday morning and afternoon.
The New Ground Academy in Paris runs over two years. Ten modules per year are held on a whole-day Saturday, once per month. The other ten modules are spread across weekly, hour-long sessions that students follow online on a week-day evening of their choice. Our Saturday sessions are quite intensive, starting at 09:00 and ending at 19:00. For more info visit www.eglises-nouvellesfrontieres.net/academy
We are stirred by the vision of seeing churches established from the North Sea all the way to the Black Sea. Being based on the North Sea coast, we see the New Ground Academy base in The Hague as a starting point for mission into Europe. Here we gather Academy participants from churches in the Netherlands (The Hague, Delft, and Maastricht), Belgium (Brussels) and more. Nine out of ten times we meet in Redeemer Church’s building, and once a year we join the Wimbledon base.
The New Ground Academy is based in London, UK, but there are also satellite training bases in Scotland (Edinburgh), in France (Paris), in the Netherlands (The Hague), in Guernsey and in Romania (Brasov). We are also working towards launching other satellite training bases in several other European cities.
The New Ground Academy in France launched it's second campus in Lyon in September 2017. The programme runs for one Saturday each month all together, in a hotel close to the main railway station. There are also small group sessions (of four or five people) midweek every week via Zoom. This year, there are approximately 30 participants representing New Ground churches in Geneva, Lyon, Marguerittes and Montpellier. Approximately two thirds of these will be "graduating" in the summer of 2018 (having completed their two years) and we are looking to see a number of new "students" sign up for September 2018.
